The original artwork featured on this notebook cover is titled "Group of Chinese Enamels". It was illustrated by Sir Matthew Digby Wyatt between 1851 and 1853 for his color plate masterwork, The Industrial Arts of the Nineteenth Century. The design replicates the intricate, vibrant lotus scrollwork typical of antique Chinese cloisonné enamel.
