This bookcover design is a fragment of an embroidered bedspread in Asian textile, registered under object number BK-1980-773-B in the prestigious collections of the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam.

It is an authentic Indo-Persian style design featuring a multicolored tamboured (chain-stitched) textile layout. Crafted anonymously by an artisan embroiderer in Gujarat, India between 1720 and 1740

It features highly detailed, exotic blossoms and winding, slender vines highlighted in rich magenta, gold, and teal tones set against a neutral, linen-textured backdrop.
